BioI am a Hǽðen woman, wife to an awesome Hǽðen man, and mum to my two sweet little boys.
Together we make Hús Wildewudu, a Hǽðen household that strives to reconnect with our ancestral culture, and to keep the ways of our ancestors alive and well for generations to come.
I have been following the gods and ways of my ancestors since the age of 17. I enjoy studying history, languages, and the religions and cultures of the world (though I am most interested and quite secure in my own, thank you very much).
Now that I have been a mother for a few years, I am also an advocate of such things as homebirth, non-vaccination, non-circumcision, etc. Basically, I advocate self-reliance and self-education in the entire realm of healthcare for oneself and one's family. To that end, I am also a self-training lay herbalist, and am interested in what is known as "traditional nutrition" (see Weston A. Price Foundation - http://www.westonaprice.org).
I love the outdoors, and would someday like to own enough land to homestead and be as self-sufficient and off-the-grid as possible. In the meantime, I satisfy my desire for privacy and closeness to nature by partipating in lightweight backpacking & camping, fishing, bow-hunting, and hiking.
I am also a lover of music for its own sake, and I listen to whatever moves me, with no regard to scene, era, or the possibility that I will be made fun of. Punk, ska, reggae, psychobilly, alt. rock, and folk are probably my favorites, but my tastes range all over the gamut (with the exception of techno, club dance, and Latin music). I enjoy collecting and learning to play various musical instruments.
Other loves include animals--learning about them, interacting with them (which is often far more enjoyable and interesting than interacting with humans), and caring for them. I once planned to pursue a career in at least one of the areas of zoology, animal behavior (especially mammalian), wildlife ecology, and veterinary medicine. My favorite animals are by far the canids, particularly wolves and domestic dogs, though I find the big cats and sea mammals interesting as well.
